MI6 is the UK’s foreign human intelligence agency. Every day, we gather secret intelligence from all over the world that helps us protect the UK. Our work requires sophisticated technology and innovative techniques, which is why we need your help. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll give us a crucial edge in a rapidly changing, data-driven world. Whether developing next generation security systems or complex cyber operations, you’ll face extraordinary challenges that you’ve never seen before.
Ultimately, your role is to make sure MI6 gets the technology it needs. That includes security systems, both within the UK and overseas. As part of our world-class Infrastructure team, you’ll develop these systems and provide 2 nd and 3 rd line support, which means working across a range of disciplines and creating new countermeasures. It’s an extremely varied role that could involve anything from network analysis, telecoms and RF transmissions, to securing physical sites, electrical sign-off or building regulation compliance. You’ll also support cyber operations as part of a wider UK team. But perhaps most importantly, you’ll collaborate and share your knowledge in a way that everyone can understand.
Perhaps you’ve got experience in Windows Server, Linux or Virtualised (VMware) environments. Or maybe you’re used to working with Cloud vendors or with CCTV, IDS and ACS. If you’re a certified AWS, Microsoft/Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Red Hat or VMware professional, so much the better. Whatever your background, you’ll be excited about technology, new capabilities and the opportunities they present. But what’s really important is a gift for clear communication and a desire to learn. Here, you can deepen your skills through everything from classroom and online learning to development schemes. With a strong sense of responsibility for the country’s security, you’ll be proud to use your skills to help safeguard the nation.
All our roles come with a full range of benefits including a cycle to work scheme, interest-free season ticket loan and access to a subsidised gym. However, the true rewards lie in using your talents for the greater good. Find out more and apply via our website.
